Downwind: The Wild Pulse of the Berkshires
The photographs and essays document the quirkiness, exuberance, and fierce beauty of animals in the neighborhood. Half the trail camera photos are from Sheffield. With the resurgence of the wild in our region, we have been given a second chance to keep them among us, to understand that we are one species among many. Our regard for the wild world presages the future.

Public Art Exhibit Reception.
Each month, the Bushnell-Sage hosts a different local artist who displays their work on both sides of the Art Wall, located on the main floor of the library. All exhibitors are invited to hold an opening reception, where refreshments will be served, provided by the Friends.
Children’s Summer Reading Program.
Each summer, children can elect to participate in a summer reading program that takes reading and reading associated games and turns them into something that can reward them in two ways. The readers can choose from a list of local non-profit organizations as recipients of their accomplishments in reading. The more books they read, the more their chosen charities benefit. The second way the children benefit is through a direct reward, often a prize raffle, at the end of the summer reading program. They all benefit from the joy of reading and can take pride in their number of checked-off books on their reading lists. Donations to the local organizations as well as some of the prizes come from the Friends of the Bushnell-Sage Library.
Author Talks.
This series features a local author speaking about his/her work. Books are generally available for purchase and autographing. All Talks are in the Library’s downstairs Program Room on Sunday afternoons at 2:30pm until 4:00pm. All Author Talks are free!
